Hotel Whole-building WiFi6 Coverage Project

Title:Hotel Whole-building WiFi6 Coverage Project, 120 Rooms With Seamless Roaming

Meta Description:Meiweisi WiFi6 AP solution for 120-room hotel. Mix ceiling AP and in-wall panel AP with AC gateway, achieve full coverage and seamless WiFi roaming for hotel guests.

Project Overview

A mid-scale tourist hotel with 120 guest rooms, lobby, restaurant and long corridors. The old WiFi system had serious problems: frequent disconnection when guests walk between rooms, weak WiFi signal inside guest rooms, difficult one-by-one AP maintenance. The hotel required full WiFi coverage, stable seamless roaming, guest portal authentication, simple later maintenance.

Core Challenges

1. Long corridor and independent guest rooms, hard to balance public area & room WiFi signal
2. Guests move between lobby, elevator and rooms, need zero-interruption WiFi roaming
3. Easy batch management of dozens of APs for hotel IT staff
4. Stable PoE power supply for all wireless access points

Our Solution

We adopted mixed deployment scheme:

• Guest rooms: RQ3000 WiFi6 in-wall panel AP, embedded into 86 wall box, clean appearance inside each room
• Lobby, restaurant & corridors: XD3000B ceiling WiFi6 AP for large-area public coverage
• Central management: Meiweisi AC Gateway, realize unified SSID, batch configuration & firmware upgrade
• Power & data transmission: Gigabit PoE switch (802.3af) to power all indoor APs

Hardware List Deployed

• RQ3000 In-wall WiFi6 AP ×120
• XD3000B Ceiling WiFi6 AP ×16
• AC Gateway ×1
• 24-port Gigabit PoE Switch ×6

Project Results

✅ Full WiFi coverage for all guest rooms and public zones, no signal blind spot ✅ Smooth seamless roaming: guest mobile phones automatically switch APs without WiFi drop ✅ Centralized management, greatly reduce on-site maintenance workload ✅ Stable for 100+ concurrent guest devices at peak check-in time

Client Quote "The WiFi roaming works very well. Guests no longer complain about network disconnection when moving around the hotel. The whole system runs reliably 24/7."
